2024 (Fifth Year): Won his second consecutive Horizon League individual title with an 8K time of 24:11, becoming the first Penguins runner to win back-to-back league titles (11/2)…Named the Horizon League Cross Country Male Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year, becoming just the second male runner in Horizon League history to win the award twice since its inception in 2002…Became the first Penguin and fifth runner in Horizon League history this season to garner First Team All-Horizon League honors four times…Secured the highest individual finish ever by a Penguin at the regional championships, finishing 11th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships with a new school record 10K time of 29:29, shattering his old record by 54 seconds (11/15)…Broke his own 8K school record with a time of 23:10 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, finishing 18th (10/18)…Placed third at the Roy Griak Invitational Gold Race with an 8K time of 25:05 (9/20)…Was named a Horizon League Honorable Mention All-Academic Team member.
2023 (Senior): 2024 Horizon League Champion, winning the 8k race with a time of 24:04.2, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up, additionally helping lead the program to its second-consecutive Horizon League Title…Named Horizon League Athlete of the Year and First-Team All-League…Earned Horizon League All-Academic honors…Set both the 8k and 10k program records…Named HLXC Runner of the Week two times during the season (10/3 & 10/17)…Competed in four races on the season and led the Penguins in all four…Achieved the best regional individual finish in program history, clocking a school record 30:23.9 in the 10k and finishing 26th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional (11/10)…Clocked a school-record 8k time of 23:17.5 at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational to finish sixth out of a loaded field of runners (10/13)…Finished 14th in the prestigious and highly competitive Blue Race at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, running a 5-mile time of 23:50.5 (9/29).
2022 (Junior): Competed in five races on the season… Earned First Team All-League Honors…Named HLXC Runner of the Week on 9/27…Broke the YSU 8k record in his first race of the season, clocking a 24:13 to place 11th at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown (9/23)… Logged the fourth-fastest 10k time in YSU history, 31:31.9, at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals to place 68th and help lead the Penguins to match their best overall regional finish at 11th (11/11)…Finished fourth at the Horizon League Championships, clocking a 24:47.1 and helping lead the Penguins to their first conference title since 2018 (10/29)…Placed 19th at the Penn State National Open with a 5.2 mile time of 25:51.8 (10/14)…Was seventh in the gold race at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational with a five-mile time of 24:35.8, helping lead the Penguins to their first gold race victory in program history (9/23).
2021 (Sophomore): Logged five appearances during the 2021 season...Named First Team All-Horizon League...Finished second-individually at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 25:42.1 (10/30)...Clocked a 5.2-mile time of 26:12.8 at the Penn State National Open to finish 18th (10/15)...Recorded the ninth-fastest 8K mark in program history at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational with a personal-best time of 25:09.8 (10/1)...Finished seventh at the Michigan State Spartan 2021 Auto Owners Invitational with a time of 25:15.0 (9/17)...Turned in a 6K time of 19:40.6 at the inaugural Yinzer Classic to finish 11th (9/3).
2020 (Freshman):Â Competed in both team races...Posted a 27:06.1 to earn a 24th-place finish at the Horizon League Cross Country Championships (3/4/21)...Placed 7th at the Florida State Winter Cross Country Classic with a time of 25:09.2 (2/5/21) - the fastest time among all YSU freshman in program history.Â
High School: As a senior, finished eighth at the Division II State Cross Country Championships with a personal-best time of 15:59.50...competed against 183 runners and became Salem's highest finisher at the state meet since 1993...was a two-time All-Ohio selection and a three-time state meet participant...coach was Ted Yuhaniak...was the No. 46 2020 senior 5,000m runner in Ohio.
