YSU Marching Pride

The Youngstown State University "Marching Pride" is one of the most visible organizations on campus numbering more than 130 members in 2021. In the midst of another exciting season, the 2022 Marching Pride will be comprised of students of all majors. 

Staff

The 2022 Marching Pride teaching staff includes Director of Athletic Bands Dr. Kate Ferguson; Ben Pickard, Teaching Assistant; Penguinette instructor; Rebecca Russell, color guard instructor; and Dylan Kollat, drumline instructor. Band photographer is Tom Markovich and the Voice of the Marching Pride is Matthew Vansuch.

Performances

One-hour-and-15-minutes prior to kickoff for every home game, the Marching Pride performs a pre-game "Ice Breaker" concert outside the Southeast corner of Stambaugh Stadium. During the Homecoming Parade the band is one of the biggest groups to participate. The Marching Pride also performs at all home games and a select away game. In 2021, we were proud to welcome over 300 high school band students to campus for different events throughout the season.

Membership

Membership in the Marching Pride is open to ALL YSU students regardless of major. From engineering, finance, business, to nursing and music majors, a musical home can be found for all Penguins! For specific questions and information call (330) 941-3635 or email at keferguson@ysu.edu.
