Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State freshman bowler Liv Baskin has been named to the Second Team All-Rookie by the National Tenpin Coaches Association for her performance on the lanes in her debut campaign. The NTCA announced its first and second All-Rookie teams on Wednesday.
Baskin is the fourth Youngstown State bowler ever to be named to the NTCA's All-Rookie or All-Freshman Team. She joins 2020-21 selection Madyson Marx and 2021-22 members Jade Cote and Lyndsay Ennis. Earlier this month, Baskin was named to the Conference USA All-Rookie Team.
Entering the NCAA Tournament, Baskin ranked second on the team in Baker scoring average at 19.77. She placed in the top 25 individually at three tournaments during the regular season, and she was the Penguins' top finisher in 17th place at the Music City Classic with a five-game set of 1,046. Baskin, a native of Elk Mound, Wis., averaged 194.82 in traditional play heading into the national tournament, including 199.10 over her last 15 games.
