Youngstown, Ohio — The Youngstown State bowling team was ranked eighth in the final National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 Poll of the 2025-26 season, the organization announced on Tuesday.
This marks the seventh straight season that the Penguins have finished in the top 10 and the fourth straight that they've been in the top eight. YSU, which featured six freshmen and seven newcomers overall in 2025-26, finished four points behind seventh-place Maryville in the final poll.
Jacksonville State, which won the National Championship, was ranked first in all 34 ballots that were submitted. Vanderbilt remained in second place, and NCAA runner-up Wichita State jumped from fifth to third for the final ranking. Arkansas State ranked fourth after joining the top three teams at the Final Four. Nebraska was fifth, Louisiana Tech ranked sixth, and Maryville, YSU, Sam Houston and North Carolina A&T rounded out the top 10.
