The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field team had a busy Saturday competing at the Michigan Invitational and the Jud Logan Light Giver Open.
The Penguins will have athletes competing in three meets next weekend.
Michigan Invitational Recap
In the 60m dash, Luke Laubacher was fifth with a personal-best time of 6.99 seconds. In the 800m, Trenton Shutters was seventh with a time of 1:54.57. In the 3000m, Connor Shingleton placed fourth with a time of 8:28.16 while Blaze Fichter was sixth at 8:35.30.
In the high jump, Zachary Webb was third clearing the bar at 2.01m while Noah Crozier also cleared the same height to place fifth. In the triple jump, Emmanuel Asabere was third with a best effort of 13.77m.
In the pole vault, Lukas Lang had a second-place finish with a best mark of 4.90m while Dakota Keifer was fourth at 4.75m. Ryan Tetrick was fifth in the shot put with a top throw of 15.28m.
YSU finished second and third in the pole vault as Melana Schumaker cleared the bar at 3.82m and Ainsley Hamsher also had the same mark.
In the high jump, Kalli Knoble placed fifth with a clearance of 1.57m. Grace Sparks had a career-best throw of 16.77m in the weight throw.

In the mile, William Hanchosky clocked a time of 4:19.99 while Josh Jones ran a time of 4:20.83. In the 3000m, Keegan Barnette had a team-best time of 8:37.43 while Beau Gorby (8:42.89) and Thomas Hunyadi were just behind (8:44.31).
In the 800m, Aiamyia Dudley posted a time of 2:23.07 while Molly Hopple had a time of 10:39.02 in the 3000m.
