Lexington, Ky. – Micah Mitchell and Lukas Lang competed at the 2026 NCAA East Prelims on Wednesday night at the UK Track and Field Complex.
Mitchell narrowly missed advancing to the quarterfinals in the 110m hurdles placing a career-best 25th in the event. The top 24 advance to the next round which will take place on Friday night.
Running in heat two, Mitchell clocked a time of 13.85 seconds which put him in the mix with four heats remaining. After heats three and four he was inside the cut line, but a quick race in heat five put him just outside the qualifying time.
He missed advancing by just 0.03 seconds as 13.82 seconds was the last time to advance.
In the pole vault, Lang did not clear the first height of 5.05m in his NCAA debut. He was one of 12 vaulters to not have a mark.
