The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field squads had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team the organization announced on Tuesday.
Earning All-District accolades were Kaitlyn Eger, Ainsley Hamsher, Lukas Lang and McKinley Fielding. Hamsher is a two-time selection, becoming just the third student-athlete in track and field history to earn the academic honor.
The All-District selections recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.
Fielding had a top-50 finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships. Lang, Eger and Hamsher all advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Regionals in the pole vault.
Nominees must rank in the top 50 in their event (regionally) whether it's during the indoor, outdoor or cross country seasons and have a cumulative GPA above 3.50.
