Wright State scored three runs between the sixth and seventh innings to rally for a 4-3 victory over the Youngstown State baseball team in the Horizon League series opener on Friday at Nischwitz Stadium in Dayton, Ohio.
The Penguins fall to 15-27 overall and 8-9 in Horizon League play while the Raiders improve to 19-19 overall and 12-4 in league action.
Youngstown State held leads of 1-0 and 3-1 before Wright State scored the final three runs of the contest.
Andre Good went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run while
Dominick Bucko and
Braeden O'Shaughnessy each had two hits as well.
Padraig O'Shaughnessy and
Lucas Nasonti each doubled while
Dylan Swarmer recorded a single. Wright State outhit YSU 11-9 and capitalized on three Penguins errors.

Matt Brosky gave the Penguins another quality outing in a losing effort as he allowed four runs, three of them earned, on nine hits while striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings.
Chad Coles issued a walk and allowed a hit without recording an out while
Casey Marshalwitz worked 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
The Penguins jumped in front 1-0 in the top of the first inning when Nasonti hit a one-out double and came around to score when
Braeden O'Shaughnessy reached on an error.
The Raiders evened the score with one run on two hits in the home half of the fourth inning. Zane Harris reached on a fielder's choice and came around to score on a one-out RBI single by Avery Fisher.
YSU regained a 3-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning when Bucko hit a two-out single and Good followed with a two-run home run to right field.
Wright State pulled within 3-2 with one run on two hits and an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sammy Sass hit a one-out single and eventually scored when Fisher reached on a fielder's choice.
The Raiders grabbed their first lead with two runs on three hits and an error in the home half of the seventh inning. Alec Sayre and Sass each recorded an RBI single during the inning to give Wright State a 4-3 advantage.
The Penguins made things interesting in the ninth as they got two runners aboard with one out. However, WSU closer Jay Luikart came on to record the final two outs and earn his fifth save of the season.
Wright State starter Jake Shirk earned his fifth victory after allowing three runs, two of them earned, on nine hits and striking out six batters over 8.1 innings of work.
Sayre went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored to pace the Raiders offensively. He was one of three Raiders to record multiple hits in the contest.
