2019 (Freshman): Played in 45 games, 41 of which he started at catcher… Started behind the plate in YSU’s final 31 games of the season… Named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team… Batted .225 and slugged .370 with eight doubles, three triples, two home runs, and 17 RBIs in 138 at-bats… Only four freshmen in the league had more RBIs… Also recorded 14 runs scored, 51 total bases, 17 walks, one stolen base and a .341 on-base percentage… Three triples were a team high and tied for fourth in the Horizon League… Ranked tied for fourth in the league with 11 runners caught stealing and eighth with 256 putouts… Ranked second on the team among regular starters with a .982 fielding percentage… Made five errors in 284 chances in the field and was credited with 23 assists… Batted .156 with two doubles, one triple, two home runs and 12 RBIs in league play… Recorded six multi-hit games and three with multiple RBIs… Reached base in 11 straight games at one point… Hit an RBI triple and scored a run at Pittsburgh (3/13)… Went 5-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored at Penn State (4/9)… Became the first Penguin since 2012 to record five hits in a game… Five hits were one shy of the single-game school record and tied for the single-game high in the Horizon League in 2019… Went 2-for-3 with two home runs and a season-high three RBIs vs. Wright State (5/4)… Became the first YSU catcher since 2004 to hit two home runs in a game… Doubled and drove in a pair of runs against Wright State (5/5).
High School: Three-year starter and letterwinner at Knoch High School... Coaches were Sean O’Donnell and Steve Hall... Named First-Team All-Section in both 2017 and 2018... Drove in 20 runs as a senior to help the Knights defend their Section 1-4A championship... Represented Team Ohio Valley in 17U USA Baseball NTIS... 2018 Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-Region... Played for Baird Brothers 18U team during the summer of 2018, winning championships in the Youngstown Class B League, National Amateur Baseball Federation Senior Division World Series and Pony Palomino East Zone tournament... Also played summer ball for Team All-American under Coach Dan Ninemire.
