Youngstown State pulled within 4-3 in the top of the second when Swarmer led off the inning with a solo home run to right center field.

Oakland extended its lead back to two runs with an unearned run in the bottom of the third inning. Cleary drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on an error in right field to push the Golden Grizzlies' lead to 5-3.

The Penguins cut the deficit to 5-4 in the top of the fourth when Padraig O'Shaughnessy hit a leadoff single and came around to score on an infield single by Franken.
