Opening Kick
After nine games in the non-conference portion of the schedule, the Youngstown State women's soccer team opens Horizon League play against Northern Kentucky, Saturday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at the NKU Soccer Field in Highland Heights, Ky.

Youngstown State returns to Farmers National Bank Field to host Cleveland State in its first Horizon League home game of the season. The Penguins take on the Vikings, Thursday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
Tough Slate
Youngstown State Head Coach Rich Wall loaded up the non-league portion of the schedule for the second straight season with teams from the American, ACC, Big Ten, and SEC along with teams from the Atlantic-10, Atlantic Sun, Mid-American Conference, and the Patriot League.
Last Time Out
Youngstown State matched Navy shot-for-shot but dropped a 1-0 decision on Sept. 13 afternoon at Farmers National Bank Field. Youngstown State equaled the Mids with 15 shots each, but the Penguins outshot Navy, 9-7, in the second half. Baylee Williams and Sara Felder had four shots apiece to lead the Penguins while Ghita Haouzi added two shots. The teams battled through a scoreless tie for nearly 52 minutes when Navy's Helen Bonner's left-footer found the lower-right corner for the game's lone score. The Guins had their opportunities to knot the game, but Navy goalkeeper Nastasha Stramrood denied all three shots on goal.
About Northern Kentucky
Northern Kentucky enters the game with an overall record of 4-2-1 and is coming off a 2-2 draw against Eastern Kentucky. Megan Molner leads the Norse with five goals and 11 points, while Erykah Cornett has three goals and four assists. Goalkeeper Donna Bundy owns a 4-1 record in the net and has 12 saves, a shutout and a combined shutout.
The NKU Series
This is the 13th meeting between Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky in a series dating back to 2012. The Norse, who won the first seven contests, have won the last two meetings in 2024 and 2025. Last season, the Norse defeated the Penguins, 3-2, at the NKU Soccer Field. Kamryn Rosa and Sara Felder each scored for the Penguins in last year's contest. The Penguins won three straight games between 2021-2023.
