Ashland, Ohio – The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field team had athletes competing at Ashland Alumni Open on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, YSU took the top six spots in the pole vault as the event was moved indoors because of inclement weather.
Taking first with a mark of 4.12m was Ainsley Hamsher while Kaitlyn Eger was second with a career-best effort of 4.07m. Marissa Ratliff was third in the event at 3.82m.
In the men's hammer throw, Levi Glassmeyer was fourth with a toss of 55.44m. In the men's pole vault, Lukas Lang was fourth with a clearance of 5.00m.
In the women's javelin, India Bailey was second with a throw of 39.55m. In the women's shot put, Maggie Goodlin placed fourth with a throw of 12.93m.
In the women's triple jump, Daisha Decree had a fourth-place leap of 11.34m.
The Penguins are next in action at the Horizon League Championships on May 8-10 in Rochester, Mich.
