The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on Friday and Saturday and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday.

YSU's running contingent made some major moves in the distance top 10's in program history on Saturday.
Four women and one men's runner saw their names move up the charts on YSU's all-time list.
For the men, Conner Shingleton led the way in the 1,500m with a time of 3:44.48, which now ranks him second all time only behind Sean Peterson. Shingleton's previous best time was 3:49.09 so he cut nearly five seconds off his previous best time.
Also in the 1,500m, Blaze Fichter ran a career-best time of 3:47.69 which moved him from 10th to sixth place all-time.
In three events, the Guins claimed top 10 finishes.
Trenton Shutters ran a time of 1:50.14 to finish seventh in the 800m. He just missed his personal best by 0.07 seconds.
Beau Gorby was third in the 10,000m with a time of 31:07.18. Owen Brady was eighth with a time of 9:07.17 in the steeplechase.
The women had four chart climbing runs on Saturday.
Maggie Hopple is now fifth all time in the 1,500m with a time of 4:34.92 while Karis McElhaney is seventh all time in the event with a time of 4:36.88.
Senior Jenna Razavi was third in the steeplechase at the meet with a personal-best time of 10:41.92. Her new career best moves her into second place in school history.
Megan Stafford is now ninth in program history in the 5,000m with a personal-best time of 17:16.19.
Hurricane Alumni Invitational
The Penguins claimed some first-place results and were able to set some personal bests in sunny Miami during a busy two days.
Jak Rovan who his first pole vault title with a clearance of 4.82m in the men's event while Ainsley Hamsher cleared 4.03m in the women's event.
The men excelled in the long, triple jumps and high jumps.
Brandon Hutchinson and Aaron Berardinelli had career-best leaps of 7.28m at the meet. Those marks moved the duo into eighth place in program history.
In the triple jump, Brayden Green had a personal-best jump of 14.99m in the triple jump and now ranks second all-time in program history.
Noah Crozier cleared 2.07m in the high jump, which was a personal best and moves him into eighth place at YSU. For the women, Kalli Knoble cleared 1.67m and now ranks in tie for 10th.
Highlighting the running events was a successful performance in the hurdles.
For the men, Hutchinson won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.37 seconds. Micah Mitchell was second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.04 seconds while Michael Balone was third at 54.26 seconds
Lea Parham placed second in the women's 100m hurdles at 13.83 seconds.
In the relays, the women's 4x100m had a time of 45.36 seconds and the men's 4x100m had a time of 41.22 seconds.
For the men in the throws, Dominic Brown had a best toss 52.01m in hammer throw and Alan Austin had a best throw of 51.02m in the discus. Jaden Kirkwood had a top throw of 16.98m in the shot put
The Penguins return to action at the Wake Forest Invitational and the Virginia Challenge later next week.
