Morgantown, W. Va. – YSU's Dominic Brown won the men's hammer throw while Grace Sparks won the women's hammer throw at the Marty Pushkin Invitational hosted by West Virginia at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park on Friday.
Sparks opened the outdoor season with a winning throw of 46.21m in the hammer throw to take first place.
Brown led a first and third place finish for the men in the event. He had a winning throw of 50.45m, which was a personal best. In his first outdoor meet as a Penguin, Levi Glassmeyer was third at 48.55m.
In the women's javelin, Sofie Price was fourth in her outdoor debut with a throw of 32.21m.
The Penguins return to action next week when they compete at the NC State Raleigh Relays.
