Flashback to the 2025 HL Championships

Last year's Horizon League Championships were very memorable for the Penguins, as Mirriam Frass made program history as she was named the Horizon League Championships Women's Swimmer of the Meet, marking the first time in program history that a Penguin has received that award. Frass won the 400 IM and 1650 free individual titles, while also being part of the 800-free relay team alongside Hailey Clark, Oliwia Kaniak, and Olivia Sweetman that won the first relay league title in YSU Swimming and Diving history, both male and female. The women finished fourth overall, breaking the program record for team points scored with 483.

The Penguin men finished in fifth place at the Horizon League Championships meet, accumulating a total of 410 points. The 200-medley relay team of Elliot Elmore, James Slessor, Jacob Gramer, and Darren Laing finished runners-up with a school-record time of 1:27.88, becoming the first men's relay team in program history to reach the podium at the Horizon League Championships. Jacob Gramer had a very strong showing at his first conference championship meet, placing second in the 100 fly with a school-record time of 47.13, which was just three-hundredths of a second slower than the first-place time. He also finished third in the 100 free with a time of 44.08, a new school record.
