Indianapolis, Ind. – The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving programs had multiple strong performances on the opening day of the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships inside the IU Natatorium.
The men's 200-medley relay team of Quinn Cynor, James Slessor, Jacob Gramer, and Noah Smith kicked off the night with a third-place finish, clocking a collective time of 1:26.05.
Hanna Held had a very impressive showing in the women's three-meter diving event as she placed runner-up with a score of 270.05.
Another runner-up finish for the women came from the 800-free relay team of Olivia Sweetman, Orla Maccines, Hannah Murray, and Derin Donmez, as they swam a time of 7:21.64.
The men's 800-free relay squad also finished second, as Quinn Cynor, Pablo Santos, Lorenz Beck, and Valer Kennedy combined for a time of 6:27.96.

The Penguins will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of competition in Indianapolis. Swimming prelims will begin at 10:00 a.m., while diving prelims will take place at 1:00 p.m., and the finals for swimming and diving will start at 5:30 p.m. All action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
