The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field team sent a group of throwers to the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday afternoon.
For the women, Jaylynn King led the way with a fifth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 17.50m. Grace Sparks had a best throw of 16.61m.
The men had competitors in the weight throw and the shot put.
In the shot put, Jaden Kirkwood had a top effort of 16.87m while Ryan Tetrick had a toss of 16.16m and Dominic Brown had a best throw of 16.01m.
In the weight throw, Brown had a best throw of 17.50m while Tetrick had a heave of 17.28m.
The Penguins are back in action on Friday when they make the short trip to Kent State for the Jud Logan Memorial Invitational.
