Clemson, S.C. -- Junior Neeranuch Prajunpanich shared medalist honors to lead the Youngstown State women's golf team to a fourth-place finish on Monday in the season-opening Tiger Classic hosted by Clemson at The Walker Course.

The Penguins concluded their first tournament of the 2025-26 season with a three-round team total of 578 to finish fourth in a competitive field of 11 teams. Youngstown State recorded a 289 in the opening round before concluding the 36-hole event with another 289 in the second and final session. Prajunpanich, the reigning Horizon League Women's Golfer of the Year, finished in a three-player tie atop the individual leaderboard at seven under par with a two-round score of 137 (67-70). The junior's two-round 137 ranks as the second-lowest individual 36-hole performance in school history. It is the lowest 36-hole score by a Penguin since Katlyn Shutt recorded a school-record 132 (68-64) at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational on Sept. 3-4, 2018.

After a historic sophomore season in 2024-25, Prajunpanich opened her junior campaign with a career-low and bogey-free, five-under-par round of 67 that featured 13 pars and five birdies. The Samut Prakan, Thailand, native notched three birdies while firing a three-under-par 33 on the front nine during her impressive opening round. The junior's first-round 67 is tied for the second-lowest individual 18-hole score in program history.

Prajunpanich finished the event with a second-round 70 that included 11 pars, three birdies and an eagle on the par-five, 480-yard No. 1. She carded three birdies during a two-under-par 34 on the back nine in the tournament's final session.

Maddi Shoults finished tied for 12th with a two-round score of 144 (73-71).
