Slippery Rock, Pa. – Nathan Leskovac and Ainsley Hamsher picked up event wins to highlight the men's and women's track and field participants at the SRU Dave Labor Invitational which concluded on Saturday.
Leskovac won the men's high jump while Hamsher won the women's pole vault on Saturday at the William Lennox Track.
Hamsher won the pole vault clearing a height of 4.00m. Placing second was Melana Schumaker with a mark of 3.90m while Kaitlyn Eger and Gabbi Selman tied at 3.70m.
Leskovac led the way in the high jump with a clearance of 2.05m. Mason Stephens was second at 2.00m and Zachary Webb was fourth at 2.00m.
Other top-five finishers for the Penguins included:
Karl Kain placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 39.35m. Dakota Keifer was fifth in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.50m. Molly Yasnowski placed fifth in the 5,000m with a time of 18:52.52.
Following a busy weekend of meets in Tennessee and Pennsylvania, YSU heads back to the Keystone State next week for more competitions. The Guins have athletes set to compete at the Westminster Invitational and the Bucknell Bison Classic.
