For the third time in the last eight years, the Youngstown State women's tennis team was selected to play at Michigan in the NCAA Regionals.
The Penguins (14-7) will face off against the third-seed Wolverines (23-4) on Friday at the Varsity Tennis Center, site of the recent Horizon League Championships, at 1 p.m. The match will follow the opening contest which features Arizona State and Ole Miss. That contest will start at 10 a.m.
YSU previously made trips to Michigan for postseason contests in 2017 and 2023. The 2023 contest also came after the Penguins won the HL title at the Wolverines' home facility.
The Guins are making their eighth appearance at the NCAA Regionals with all coming since 2014. The Penguins have won their last seven contests
Current seniors Lili Minich and Julia Marko both played at Michigan in 2023. Minich was in the No. 2 singles slot while Marko was at No. 5. Line Greyling and Marko played at No. 3 doubles while Marko was part of No. 2 doubles.
