YSU Travels To Milwaukee For Key HL Road Test

After opening Horizon League play with a win over Cleveland State, the Youngstown State women's tennis team will travel to Milwaukee to continue conference play.

First serve against the Panthers is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday inside River Glen Elite Tennis Club.

The Penguins began league play with a 4-3 victory over CSU, extending their win streak to four matches and improving to 1-0 in conference play and 8-9 overall.

Against the Vikings, the doubles pairings of Yoana Dudova and Henna Telzynska, along with Line Greyling and Yeseniia Ovcharova, earned wins by scores of 6-2 and 6-3, respectively.

Milwaukee enters the match following a 7-0 loss to Stetson while on its spring break, dropping to 5-10 overall. The Panthers are still seeking their first Horizon League win after a 4-3 loss at Oakland.

This marks the first meeting between the teams since Youngstown State defeated Milwaukee 4-0 in the semifinals of the 2025 Horizon League Championships. The Penguins are undefeated against the Panthers dating back to the 2018-19 season.

A win over the Panthers would mark the first time Youngstown State has opened Horizon League play 2-0 since the 2022-23 season, when the Penguins went undefeated in conference play and captured the Horizon League Championship.
