The Youngstown State women's golf team placed ninth in Ohio State's Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational, which concluded on Sunday from the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

The Penguins concluded the tournament with a three-round team total of 948. YSU recorded team scores of 314 and 321 in the first two rounds, respectively, on Saturday before closing the event with a 313 in the third and final session on Sunday.

Neeranuch Prajunpanich finished tied for 21st with three-round score of 229 (75-80-74) to come in as YSU's top individual. The sophomore's two-over-par 74 in the final round on Sunday featured 10 pars and three birdies.

Freshman Valentina Peña Anaya finished tied for 42nd with a three-round total of 237 (80-80-77) while senior Lizzie Saur tied for 53rd with a 242 (83-78-81).

Freshman Sofia Perez Escarcena finished tied for 58th with a three-round 244 (79-83-82) while junior Maddi Shoults placed 60th with a 245 (80-84-81).

Ohio State claimed its home tournament title by 11 shots at two over par as a team with a three-round total of 866. Michigan State finished as the runner-up with an 877 while Kent State placed third with an 880.

Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh earned medalist honors by three strokes at eight under par with a three-round score of 208 (70-69-69).

Youngstown State will now turn its attention to the 2025 Horizon League Golf Championships, which will take place April 19-21 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.
