The Youngstown State women's tennis team takes a three-match winning streak to East Lansing, Mich., for a pair of contests this weekend.

YSU plays Ball State on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Michigan State on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both matches will be at MSU's Indoor Tennis Center.

The Penguins (6-4) picked up two impressive victories last week at Bowling Green and Western Michigan. YSU swept the Horizon League's weekly awards following their success as Julia Marko was named the Singles Player of the Week and she along with Ghada Dirninger we the Doubles Players of the Week.

Marko enters the match tied with Margarita Sadovnikova for second in school history with 77 career singles victories. Marko is 20-5 in singles play this year, including a 9-1 mark at No. 1 singles.

Ball State (3-1) has won its last three contests entering Saturday's match. YSU dropped a tough 4-3 decision to the Cardinals last year in Muncie, Ind., on Feb. 16. The Guins last defeated BSU on Feb. 24, 2018 in Youngstown.

Michigan State (6-2) has won six straight matches entering Sunday's contest. Last year, the Spartans defeated YSU, 4-1, in Youngstown. Lili Minich picked up YSU's point with a win at No. 5 singles and at No. 1, Marko had a lead in the third set.
