The Youngstown State women's golf team concluded the fall portion of its 2024-25 season with a seventh-place finish in the two-day Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by Delaware, which concluded on Sunday at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
The Penguins finished with a three-round team total of 913 to finish seventh out of 10 teams in the 54-hole event. YSU recorded team rounds of 310 and 305 in the first two rounds, respectively, on Saturday before closing the tournament with a 298 in the third and final session on Sunday.
Lizzie Saur tied for 12th with a three-round score of 221 (75-72-74) to come in as YSU's top individual finisher. The senior's even-par 72 in the second round featured 10 pars and four birdies.
Neeranuch Prajunpanich finished tied for 21st with a three-round total of 226 (77-75-74). The sophomore's two-over-par 74 in the final session included nine pars and four birdies.
Sofia Perez Escarcena concluded the event tied for 37th with a three-round 232 (78-81-73). The freshman matched her lowest round of the season with a one-over-par 73 in the final round that featured 10 pars and four birdies.
Valentina Peña Anaya finished the tournament with a three-round score of 234 (80-77-77) while Adena Rugola carded a three-round total of 252 (86-82-84).
Delaware claimed the tournament title by one stroke at 17 over par with a three-round team total of 881. Quinnipiac was the runner-up with an 882 while Georgetown placed third with an 885. Yale finished fourth with an 888 while Penn rounded out the top five with an 892.
Delaware's Alisa Khokhlova earned medalist honors by one shot at five under par with a three-round 211 (74-66-71) while Georgetown's Georgia Ruffolo was the individual runner-up with a 212 (72-69-71).
Youngstown State will now pause from competition until the spring portion of the 2024-25 season begins on Feb. 8-9 with the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.
