Box Score Las Vegas - The Youngstown State women's tennis team hung tough with Pacific, but dropped a 5-2 decision to the Tigers on Friday afternoon at the Ferittta Tennis Complex at UNLV.
The Penguins picked up two singles wins along with a doubles victory and dropped two other singles matches in three sets.
In doubles, Cecilia Rosas and Maria Oliveira picked up a wild 7-6 (14-12) win at No. 2, but the Tigers claimed the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
In singles, Moka Ito and Eliska Masarikova picked up straight set victories for the Guins. At No. 2, Masarikova won her contest 6-2, 6-2 while Ito picked up a strong 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5.
The Tigers claimed three-set wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles.
YSU returns to action on Saturday against Weber State. The contest against the Wildcats is set for 1 p.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Pacific.
