Box Score The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Carnegie Mellon on Sunday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins (1-1) won the doubles point against the Tartans (2-1) and were victorious in four singles contests.
YSU won doubles contests at No. 1 and No. 2 by scores of 6-1.
In singles play, the Guins earned wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. At No. 2 singles, Lili Minich earned a 6-1, 6-3 win. At No. 3 singles, Eliska Masarikova won her contest 6-2, 6-0. Cecilia Rosas picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles while Jessica Stanmore claimed a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5.
YSU heads to Las Vegas to play three matches this upcoming week. The Guins have matches scheduled against Weber State, UTEP and UNLV.
