The Youngstown State women's golf team will continue its fall schedule on Saturday when it begins play in the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State at the PSU Blue Course in University Park, Pa.

The Penguins are coming off their second victory in as many tournaments at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational on Tuesday. Youngstown State fired a two-round team total of 585 to win the event by 24 strokes. YSU's two-round 585 is tied for the fourth-lowest 36-hole performance in program history. Puthita Khuanrudee claimed medalist honors for the second straight tournament with a two-round score of 141 (72-69). The fifth-year senior's two-round 141 ranks as the third-lowest 36-hole score in school history. Khuanrudee was one of five Penguins to finish in the top 10 of the individual standings.

The tournament field at the Nittany Lion Invitational features 15 other schools including Penn State, Boston College, Bradley, Bucknell, Butler, Central Michigan, Columbia, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, Kennesaw State, Navy, Richmond, Seton Hall, Toledo and Towson. The Penguins will be paired with Butler and Toledo during the first two rounds on Saturday.

The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Saturday's first round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. while Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The course will play approximately 6,402 yards and par is 72. Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Puthita Khuanrudee, Titita Loudtragulngam, Lizzie Saur, Danae Rugola and Madie Smithco. All five golfers have competed in each of YSU's first two tournaments of 2022-23. Rugola will be in the lineup for the first time this season after playing as individual in the first two events.
