The Youngstown State women's tennis team continued its run of strong play with a 5-2 win over Ball State on Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center.
The Penguins have now won five straight matches to improve to 5-7 on the season. Ball State falls to 5-4.
YSU lost the doubles point before picking up five singles wins against the Cardinals.
At No. 1, Noelly Longi Nsimba beat Peyton Gollhofer 6-1, 4-6, 7-6. At No. 2, Sofia Macias picked up a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Audrey Berger. At No. 3, Anastasiia Khokhlova beat Isabelle Dohanics 6-3, 7-6. At No. 5, Tamara Teufl beat Ball State's Victoria Sec 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 and at No. 6 Cassandra Moraleja beat Lilya Hadab 6-3, 6-1.
YSU is next in action when it takes on Seton Hall on March 5 in California.
