Akron, Ohio - Youngstown State's Sofia Macias and Cassandra Moraleja won all three of their singles matches while Macias and Imaan Hassim took the title at No. 1 doubles at the Akron Shootout over the weekend.

Playing at No. 2 singles, Macias beat Akron's Madison Wolfe 6-1, 6-0 on Friday, Oakland's Allison Motea 6-1, 6-3 on Saturday and concluded her perfect weekend with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Cleveland State's Aleksandra Golawska on Sunday. At No. 4 singles, Moraleja beat Akron's Waverly Wituski 6-2, 6-2 on Friday, OU's Samantha Galloway 2-6, 7-6, 10-8 on Saturday and CSU's Jana Schober 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday.

In doubles play, Macias and Hassim won all three matches at No. 1 doubles. They beat Oakland 6-3 on Friday, Cleveland State 6-1 on Saturday and finished with a 6-4 win over Akron on Sunday.

YSU won five of six singles matches against fellow Horizon League foes Oakland and Cleveland State and had two wins against the Zips. Winning a pair of singles matches on the weekend were Lucia Zagar, Tamara Teufl and Hassim. Noelly Longi Nsimba and Teufl each won two doubles matche in the tournament.

YSU returns to action on Friday when it plays at the Wright State Invitational.
