Muncie, Ind. - Dominika Lackova and Noelly Nsimba picked up singles wins, but the Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Ball State on Saturday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
Lackova earned a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Carmen Blanco at No. 1 while Nsimba came back after losing the first set 6-1 to win the next two 7-5, 11-9 against Isabelle Dohanics.
The Cardinals (8-2) won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
Ball State won two of the three doubles matches to claim the point. YSU picked up a victory at No. 1 as Ana Stroe and Nsimba defeated Rosalinda Calderon and Rebecca Herrington by a 6-4 score.
The Penguins (4-6) are next in action on Sunday, March 5 when they visit UC Irvine.
