Opening Kick
The Youngstown State women's soccer team closes out its two-game homestand and the month of September when it welcomes Horizon League foe Purdue Fort Wayne, Sunday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be aired on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
Youngstown State outshot Cleveland State, 20-7, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the Vikings on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Farmers National Bank Field. Sophomore Kamryn Rosa scored for the second time in as many games to lead the Penguins offense. Sara Felder and Ghita Haouzi were both credited with an assist on Rosa's goal. Goalkeeper Kendall Sears posted three saves.
Guins Looking to Match Best Start Since 2014
Youngstown State is going for its best start in Horizon League play since the 2014 season. With a win over the Mastodons, the Penguins would improve to 2-0-1 in league action and match the best start in conference play in program history.
About Purdue Fort Wayne
Fort Wayne enters the game with a 1-7-1 overall record and a 0-2 mark in Horizon League play. The Mastodons are coming off a 2-0 loss at Robert Morris on Sept. 24. Five different players have scored goals for the Mastodons this season.
The Purdue Fort Wayne Series
This is the 16th meeting between Youngstown State and Purdue Fort Wayne in a series dating back to 2004. The Penguins own a 9-6 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last five contests Last season, the Penguins defeated the Mastodons, 1-0, in Fort Wayne, Ind. YSU has won the last three games at Farmers National Bank Field against PFW dating to 2019.
Last Time at Home Against PFW
The last time Youngstown State faced the Mastodons at Farmers National Bank Field, the Penguins came away with a 3-1 victory on Sept. 29, 2024. Chloe Weiland scored two goals and Emma Rigone scored a goal and two assists to lead the Penguins to the victory. Weiland became first YSU player to score multiple goals in a game since Elis Klein Spindola had a hat trick against Robert Morris in 2022.
Rosa Loving the League
Sophomore Kamryn Rosa continues her love of playing against Horizon League opponents. With her goal against Cleveland State, Rosa has scored in each of the first two Horizon League contests this season. She has scored nine goals during her career. Eight of those goals came in 12 Horizon League contests, including her game-winner against Northern Kentucky on Sept. 19.
To the Haouzi
Sophomore Ghita Haouzi scored the most improbable goal of her young career. Haouzi's goal at the 87:50 mark against Duquesne tied the game at 1-1 and pushed the Penguins to a draw. Youngstown State trailed 1-0 for 83:19 before her score. She now leads the Penguins with two goals and two assists for six total points. She was credited with an assist on each of Kamryn Rosa's goals this season.
2026 Captains
The Youngstown State women's soccer program has named seniors Emma Berdiner, Camille Bultel and Eva Sujevaric, and junior Leah Weiland as team captains for the 2026 season. Berdiner was named to the 2023 Horizon league All-Freshman Team. Bultel was named All-Horizon League Third-Team in 2025 after scoring four goals with four assists for a total of 16 points. Sunjevaric has appeared in 49 games during her career and scored a goal and has two career assists from her defender position. Weiland is in her third full season with the Penguins and she has two career assists.
