Penguins Settle For Draw Against the Vikings

Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State women's soccer team scored early but was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Cleveland State on Thursday evening at Farmers National Bank Field.
The Penguins move to 1-7-3 overall and 1-0-1 in Horizon League play while the Vikings are 1-7-1 overall and 1-0-1 in league action.
Youngstown State outshot the Vikings 20-7, including 15-1 in the second half, could only convert one of its seven shots on goal.
Sophomore Kamryn Rosa scored her second goal in as many games to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead at the 15:25 mark of the game.
Sophomore Ghita Haouzi fought off a defender to gain possession in the right corner and found Sara Felder just outside the 18.
After two touches, Felder slid a pass to Rosa just outside the six, and her right-footer found the lower-left corner of the goal.
Cleveland State was able to knot the game at 1-1 with a goal by Sidney Nicholas in the 26th minute.
Junior goalkeeper Kendall Sears posted three saves in another solid performance in the net.
Youngstown State hosts Purdue Fort Wayne, Sunday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
