Penguins, Fans Enjoy Meet the Team Event Presented by WFMJ

The Youngstown State football program enjoyed spending Saturday afternoon playing host to its Meet the Team event presented by 21 WFMJ at the WATTS.
YSU's 115 student-athletes and coaches spent nearly 90 minutes with young and old Penguin fans taking photos and signing autographs. Besides the autograph sessions and photo ops there was a dress-like-a-football-player station, field goal kicking area, playing catch with the Penguins and bounce-arounds courtesy of Austintown Bounce. A new highlight from this year's event was a 40-yard dash that featured YSU players against kids and grown ups.
Members of the YSU Spirit Squad and Pete the Penguin were also in attendance to greet and meet fans.
The Penguins open the 2026 season on August 27 when they play host to Mercyhurst at Stambaugh Stadium. Tickets and Penguin Club memberships are available by reaching out the Athletic Ticket Office at (330) 941-1978.
