Youngstown State women's distance runner McKinley Fielding was named the Under Armour #HLTF Runner of the Week for the second straight time, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Fielding set the school record in the 5,000m run at the Penn Relays on Thursday night. She clocked a time of 16:15.79 to smash Sam Hamilton's mark of 16:34.44 that had stood since March 31, 2012.
Fielding now leads the Horizon League in the event by almost 25 seconds in the event. Her previous best time in the 5,000m was 16:39.66.
This spring she has set school records in the 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m.Â
The Penguins are next in action on May 8-10 when they will compete at the Horizon League Track and Field Championships hosted by Oakland in Rochester, Mich.
