Youngstown, Ohio – Anna Braughton has joined the Youngstown State women's soccer program as an assistant coach, Head Coach Rich Wall announced on Wednesday.
"It's an understatement to say I'm excited to add Anna to our coaching staff," Wall said. "Having coached her early on in her college soccer career and later following her success at UC and in Charlotte it's been fun to see her passion for the game and personal growth as a human and athlete.
"She has big shoes to fill, but I know she will be a tremendous asset to our program and bring an immediate positive energy and impact to our team and goalkeepers."
Braughton, a four-year starting goalkeeper at the University at the University of Cincinnati, joins Youngstown State from Thomas More University where she served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the 2025 season. She mentored TMU's goalkeepers to five shutouts and seven wins, and Tea Pence led the squad with a 1.46 goals-against average, 73 saves and a .811 save percentage.
"I'm incredibly excited and honored to join the YSU women's soccer program," Braughton said. "From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew this was a place where I could grow and make a meaningful impact.
"I look forward to bringing energy, passion, and commitment every day, and contributing to a positive, competitive environment that pushes everyone to be their best. I can't wait to get started and be part of something special at Youngstown State."
While at Cincinnati, Braughton made 83 consecutive starts in goal, played 7,502 minutes, and recorded 267 saves with a 1.296 goals-against average and 18 shutouts during her career. She was named team captain and was a 2024 Big XII All-Academic First-Team selection and a 2021 and 2022 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team pick.
Braughton was a member of the Charlotte Lady Eagles WPSL for the 2022 & 2023 seasons, serving as a Team Captain and WPSL National Champion during the 2023 season.
