Track and Field

Penguins Head to Ashland, Kent, Ann Arbor For Trio of Competitions

The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field teams will be in action in Ohio and Michigan this Friday and Saturday.

YSU will have athletes at Doug Raymond Invitational in Kent on Friday and Saturday and at the Michigan Invitational and Jud Logan Light Giver Open in Ashland on Saturday.

The Penguins are sending their sprinters to the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State's Field House. The 200m is set for Friday with the 60m, 60m Hurdles and 400m being held on Saturday.

At Michigan, the Guins will have athletes in all three jumping events, the pole vault and both throwing events. Connor Durig and Mia Dionsio will also run in the 400m. On Saturday, events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw.

At the Jud Light Giver Open, 11 distances runners will be competing. On the men's side, YSU will have athletes in the 800m and mile. On the women's side, the Guins will compete in the 800m, mile and 3,000m. Even though it's a two-day meet, all races are on Saturday starting at 3 p.m.
