Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Duquesne on Thursday evening at Rooney Field.
The Penguins fall to 1-7 overall while the Dukes improve to 5-2 on the year.
Duquesne scored once in the first half in the 30th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Dukes' Maya Matesa scored a pair of goals in a span of 1:17 to expand the lead to 3-0, and Duquesne added another goal in the 68th minute.
Sophomore Sara Felder posted a pair of shots on goal to lead the Penguins and goalkeeper Maya Naimoli posted nine saves.
Youngstown State opens Horizon League play hosting Green Bay, Thursday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
