Slippery Rock, Pa. – The members of the YSU men's and women's track and field team who competed at the SRU Last Chance meet had solid performances on Friday at the Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Lea Parham won the 100m hurdles, Mariah Day won the 100m and Molly Radcliffe won the discus as the Guins battled a weather delay to have a strong afternoon.
In the women's hammer throw, YSU nabbed second, fourth and sixth-place performances. Krista Perry led the way with a throw of 51.79m to finish as the runner up, Radcliffe took fourth with a throw of 47.09m and Olivia Mason was sixth at 45.23m.
In the women's discus, YSU took four of the top five spots. Radcliffe took first place with a throw of 45.31m, Perry was second at 42.40m, Grace Bundy was fourth with a toss of 37.94m and Lauren Sheehan was fifth at 37.93m. Sheehan added a fifth place finish in the shot put with throw of 12.80m.
In the men's discus, Coleson Kertesz took third with a throw of 46.47m. In the men's shot put, Jaden Kirkwood came in third with a toss of 16.25m.
Parham took first in the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.34 seconds. That time ranks her tied for 10th in program history. Day won her 100m title with a time of 11.82 seconds while Mone Knowles took fourth with a time of 12.34 seconds. Abbigail Schleicher finished fifth in the 400m with a time of 59.82 seconds.
The Guins had three of top five spots in the 400m dash. Finishing second was senior William Delbaugh who clocked a time of 49.64 seconds while Teziah Howard was fourth clocking a 50.05 and Jarett Gordulic was fifth at 50.63 seconds.
