Box Score Chicago, Ill. – The Youngstown State men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Horizon League play with a 7-0 win over Chicago State at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club on Saturday morning.
The Penguins improved to 11-5 overall with the win over the Cougars.
In doubles, YSU won at No. 1 and No. 2 while Chicago State defaulted at No. 3. At No. 1, Chester Wickwire and William Rassat collected a 6-2 win while at No. 2, Ethan Dasset and Onder Balci won by a 6-1 score.
Only four of the six singles contests were played as the Cougars defaulted at No. 5 and No. 6.
At No. 1 singles, Balci won 6-4, 7-5. Dasset picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. At No. 3, Matteo Ceradelli won his contest by a score of 6-1, 6-3 and at No. 4, Viktor Van Craenenbroeck cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Mihai Haita and Wickwire picked up wins by walkovers at No. 5 and No. 6.
The Penguins are back in action later this evening when they visit Northwestern. First serve for the contest with the Wildcats is 7 p.m. Eastern time.
