The Youngstown State men's tennis team ventures to the Chicagoland area for a conference match against Chicago State and a non-league tilt at Northwestern on Saturday.

The match against the Cougars (1-5 and 0-3 in HL) is scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central time at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club. The dual against No. 65 Northwestern (10-10) is set for 7 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Central at the Combe Tennis Center. The Wildcats play host to Illinois earlier in the day on Saturday.

The Penguins (10-5 and 2-0) opened Horizon League play with home wins over IU Indy and Northern Kentucky last weekend. In singles play, Onder Balci, Filip Avdeev and Ethan Dasset each won twice as YSU dominated in the top three spots in the lineup.

YSU has already exceeded its 2024 overall win total and a win over the Cougars will equal the number of Horizon League wins from a year ago.

Youngstown State beat CSU on two occasions last year by 6-1 margins. The Guins have won the last seven matches in the series dating back to 2011. This is the program's first-ever match against Northwestern.
