The Youngstown State men's tennis team opens Horizon League play with a pair of home contests this weekend at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
On Saturday, the Penguins (8-5) entertain IU Indy at noon before hosting Northern Kentucky at noon on Sunday.
IUI enters the weekend with a 7-7 record and is 1-0 in Horizon League play after beating Chicago State on March 15. NKU is 4-6 and is 2-0 in league play following two wins over the Cougars on March 16.
Last year, YSU split the contests with the Jaguars and dropped a pair of 4-3 decisions to the Norse.
The Penguins were strong in a 7-0 win at Duquesne last Saturday. After taking the doubles point, the Guins won five of six singles contests in straight sets. For their doubles victory, William Rassat and Chester Wickwire were named the Under Armour HL Doubles Player of the Week.
YSU last played at home on Feb. 22.
Two wins this weekend would give the Penguins 10 on the season, eclipsing last year's total of nine. In HL play a year ago, YSU was 3-5 with two wins coming against Chicago State.
