Two impressive Youngstown State indoor debuts helped junior Jaylynn King (women's field athlete) and Patrick Burgos (men's runner) earn Under Armour Horizon League Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
In her YSU debut, King won the weight throw at the YSU Icebreaker presented by Southwoods Health with a personal-best throw of 18.39m on Friday.
That mark moves her into third place all-time in school history. Her previous best mark in the weight throw was 16.03m at the 2025 HL Championships while competing for Cleveland State.
In his YSU indoor debut, Burgos ran a time of 14:16.37 in the 5,000m at the Boston U Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday.
His time was the fourth fastest in the event in program history while helping him place second in his heat. Burgos redshirted last year and is coming off an outstanding 2025 cross country campaign.
The Penguins return to action on Jan. 16 when they play host to the YSU Collegiate Invitational at WATTS.
