Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State women's soccer program signed 12 recruits to grants-in-aid to continue their academic and athletic career with the Penguins, Head Coach Rich Wall announced.
Joining the Penguins next fall are Nicole Bown (North Huntingdon, Pa.), Presley Caslin (Forest Hill, Md.), Frankie Cassese (Youngstown, Ohio), Mia Deramo (South Fayette Township, Pa.), Gabriella Fadel (Mississauga, Ont.), Cami Givens (San Diego, Calif.), Hayden Goldstein (University City, Calif.), Reese Johnson (Independence, Ky.), Quinn Miller (South Fayette Township, Pa.), Emerson Suckow (Mequon, Wis.), Jenna Tufo (Middletown, Calif.), and Danielle Wylie (Mississauga, Ont.).
"I'm thrilled to announce the addition of these twelve future Guins," Wall said. "We've been thorough in identifying their character, and their fit for what we are trying to accomplish on the field.
"These signees add positional balance to our returning core of players. They add to our team's ability to create and score goals, our ability to prevent goals, and they add athleticism such as speed, endurance, and power."
Bown, a midfielder, was named all-section, first-team all-conference, and All-WPIAL, and she helped Norwin High School to a sectional championship. She is also a member of the Beadling SC Girls Academy team.
Caslin, a midfielder and defender from The John Carroll School, was a four-year starter and scored 10 career goals with 13 career assists. She is also a member of the Pipeline SC ECNL team.
Cassese, a midfielder, was a two-time all-state and two-time all-district selection as a junior and senior. She helped Cardinal Mooney High School to back-to-back district championships in 2024 and 2025. She is also a member of the Canton Akron United Force ECNL Regional League team.
Deramo, a four-time letterwinner and team captain at South Fayette High School, scored 53 goals with 50 assists for 156 points during her prep career. The midfielder was a three-time all-section pick and a two-time All-WPIAL selection. She is also a member of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds ECNL team.
Fadel, a midfielder, was named an EDP Tournament Top 11 player in 2023 and helped her club team to three EDP championships. She also a member of the Rush Canada Academy OPDL team and has represented the Lebanon Women's National Under-20 Team.
Givens, a goalkeeper, was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain at Mater Dei Catholic High School. She was a two-time all-conference selection and set the school record for most career shutouts. Givens was the first Mater Dei Catholic player to be named to the All-San Diego Team. She is also a member of the Rebels SC ENCL team.
Goldstein, midfielder, was a four-time all-conference selection and a four-year letterwinner University City High School. She is also a member of the San Diego SC Surf Girls Academy team.
Johnson, a forward, was a two-time all-region pick at Simon Kenton High School. She is also a member of the Kings Hammer SC Girls Academy team, previously her club team won the ECNL Girls Ohio Valley North Championship in 2022-23.
Miller, a midfielder, was a four-year letterwinner at South Fayette High School and was a two-time all-section pick and an All-WPIAL choice as a senior. She helped her high school to back-to-back WPIAL Championships as a sophomore and junior and a runner-up finish as a senior. She is also a member of the Century United Girls Academy team.
Suckow, a defender and midfielder, scored nine goals over her last two club seasons. She was also a two-time ODP state team selection. She is also a member of the FC Wisconsin ECNL team.
Tufo, a forward and midfielder, scored 68 goals and 148 points in two years, was named conference Most Valuable Player, and was a two-time first-team all-conference selection. She is also a member of the Pleasanton RAGE ECNL team.
Wylie, a defender, helped Post Credit Secondary School to ROPSAA Gold and the ROPSAA finals. She is also a member of the Rush Canada Academy OPDL team.
