The Youngstown State men's tennis team will have six players compete at the ITA sanctioned Horizon League Indoor Championships held in Cleveland this Friday through Sunday.
YSU is sending Onder Balci, Will Rassat, Matteo Ceradelli, Viktor Van Craenenbroeck and Filip Avdeev to play singles contests. YSU's doubles lineups are Avdeev/Ceradelli, Chester Wickwire/Rassat and Balci/Van Craenenbroeck.
Singles starts at 9 a.m. on Friday with doubles events set for 5 p.m. All matches will be played at Cleveland State's Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
This spring, Balci is off to a 5-1 start while Rassat owns a 3-1 singles record. Rassat and Wickwire own a 2-0 doubles mark early in the fall slate.
Horizon League men's teams competing in the new event are Tennessee State, Belmont, Tennessee Tech, IUPUI and Northern Kentucky.
The singles bracket features 32 players while the doubles bracket has 16 duos. There are no byes in the tournament. Balci is seeded in the No. 5-8 spot in singles.
