Box Score Indianapolis, Ind. – The Youngstown State men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 defeat to IUPUI on Friday afternoon at the West Indy Racquet Club.
The Penguins fall to 7-8 overall and 1-2 in the Horizon League while the Jaguars improve to 8-11 and 2-1 on the season.
The Jaguars picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the point and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles play, Nathan Favier won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 and Harry Fouzas claimed a 6-2, 7-6 win at No. 4 for YSU's straight set wins. Winning in three sets was Onder Balci at No. 3 as he claimed a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win. The Jags won in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6 and in three set at No. 2.
YSU returns to action on Saturday when it visits Northern Kentucky. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
