The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Duquesne on Friday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Guins won the doubles point by winning two of three contests before picking up victories in five singles contests.
In doubles, YSU earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 3, Line Greyling and Elinor Beazley claimed a 6-3 win while the Penguins picked up the point with a hard-fought 7-6 (2) win by Julia Marko and Lorena Cedeno.
In singles play, the Guins won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 to seal the victory. At No. 1, Eliska Masarikova won 6-3, 6-4, at No. 5, Lili Minich picked up a quick 6-1, 6-2 win and at No. 3, Cedeno clinched the victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win.
At No. 2, Marko rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 while at No. 6, Yeseniiia Ovcharova battled for a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 win.
The Penguins return to action tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock when they play host to Michigan State.
