In singles play, Will Rassat claimed a singles win over Cleveland State's Devin Boyer.
In doubles competition, Rassat and Chester Wickwire earned an 8-6 win against DePaul and Onder Balci and Filip Adveev earned an 8-3 win over Wisconsin.
The Penguins are next in action at the three-day Cleveland State Invitational which starts on Friday.
