The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field teams had a busy two days at four different meets.
Highlighting the performances were Hunter Christopher who lowered his school record in the 3000m by 10 seconds at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and Jakari Lomax who smashed his school best in the triple jump at the UMass-Lowell River Hawk Invitational.
Winning events at the various meets were Lomax, Luke Laubacher winning the 60m hurdles at the UMass-Lowell River Hawk Invitational, Dominic Perry winning the shot put at the KSU Doug Raymond Invitational and Jenna Razavi winning the 3000m at Kent State.
Up next, the Penguins play host to the YSU Mid-Major Invitational this Friday and Saturday at WATTS.

UMass-Lowell River Hawk Invitational
Lomax capped off an impressive meet with his record performance on Saturday. On his second attempt, he had a leap of 15.74m to tie for the event title with Arizona's Sir Jonathan Sims. Lomax's previous best jump was 15.52m which came at the YSU Icebreaker in December.
His jump moves him into the top 20 nationally.
Laubacher picked up a win in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.81 seconds. In the 60m dash, Daimere Stephens-Stewart placed fifth with a time of 6.86 seconds. Harry Barton had a pair of top 13 finishes, placing 12th in the 200m with a time of 21.86 seconds and 13th in the 400m at 48.95 seconds.
In the high jump, Connor Durig was third with a mark of 2.00m while Mason Stephens came in fourth at also 2.00m and Nathan Leskovac was seventh with a top effort of 1.95m. In the long jump, Tye Hunt placed third with a leap of 7.35m while Stephens-Stewart was seventh at 6.94m.
In the shot put invitational, Ryan Henry picked up a third-place finish with a best throw of 17.74m. In the shot put unseeded, Coleson Kertesz was third with a throw of 15.08m.
For the women, Nia Williams-Matthews had the best finish for the Guins at the meet.
Williams-Matthews placed second in the triple jump behind Arizona's Taylen Wise with a leap of 12.25m.
In the long jump, Esther Solarin placed fifth with a leap of 5.73m while Micah Carey finished seventh with a jump of 5.67m. In the high jump, Kalli Knoble finished seventh clearing a height of 1.58m.
In the 60m hurdles, Emily Bee placed sixth with a time of 8.99 seconds while Madison Murry was seventh at 9.07 seconds.
KSU Doug Raymond Invitational
Perry claimed an impressive win in the shot put while Jenna Razavi picked up her first YSU victory in the 3000m.
Razavi clocked a time of 10:15.56 to take the race by just over a second. She made her YSU debut last week and took the title in just her second race as a Guin.
Perry won his event with a toss of 18.30m taking first by nearly two meters.
In the 60m hurdles, Teddi Kinsey was sixth with a time of 9.12 seconds. In the 60m dash, Nia Grose was seventh with a time of 7.79 seconds. In the 200m, Logan Franczkowski was seventh with a time of 25.98 seconds.
For the men in the 400m, Nate Lewins was eighth with a time of 49.70 seconds. In the 60m hurdles, Micah Mitchell placed seventh with a time of 8.41 seconds. In the shot put, Ryan Tetrick was sixth with a throw of 15.04m.
John Thomas Terrier Classic
The men's mid-distance and distance runners led the way for the Penguins.
Christopher clocked a school-record time of 7:58.37 to finish eighth in the 3K. He lowered his previous best mark by 10 seconds. Owen Brady clocked a personal-best time of 8:18.85 which ranks him eighth in school history. Blaze Fichter also added a personal best in the event running an 8:29.60.
In the 5000m, Meadows placed 14th in a strong field with an indoor personal-best time of 14:02.99. Also in the event, Tyler Clark ran a personal-best time of 14:20.90 which ranks him seventh in school history. Also recorded personal bests were Luke Baun at 14:46.33 while Beau Gorby had a personal-best 14:59.31.
In the 800m, William Hanchosky recorded a personal-best time of 1:53.81.
For the women, Morgan Cole ran a career-best time of 9:29.46 in the 3000m to finish an impressive 14th and just missed the school record by just over a second. Malena Cybak just missed a personal-best clocking a time of 2:13.96 in the 800m. Capping off the event was a time of 17:17.09 by Alyssa Deeds in the 5000m. That time ranks her fourth in school history.
PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational
In the women's pole vault, Kaitlyn Eger placed third in the unseeded event clearing the bar at 3.83m while Ainsley Hamsher and Melana Schumaker had a top mark of 3.68m.
In the men's pole vault, Dorian Chaigneau was sixth in the elite event clearing 5.17m and Blake Sifferlin was eighth also clearing the same mark. In the unseeded event, Jack Vecellio finished second by clearing a height of 5.02m while Lukas Lang cleared 4.87m.
