Northridge, Calif. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to CSUN on Thursday afternoon at the Matador Tennis Complex.
The Penguins took an early lead by winning two of three matches to take the doubles point. YSU won at No. 2 on the strength of a 6-2 win by Lili Minich and Cecilia Rosas and at No. 3 as Maria Oliveira and Line Greyling picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3.
In singles contests, Elisa Rigazio claimed her second straight win beating Sasha Turchak by a score of 6-2, 6-3. The Matadors won four singles contests in straight sets. At No. 4 singles, Rosas dropped a tough 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 decision.
YSU concludes its trip to California on Friday with a match at Cal State Fullerton. First serve against the Titans is set for 4:30 p.m. Eastern time/1:30 p.m. Pacific time.
