Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team used a strong performance to beat Duquesne, 5-2, on Friday evening at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center of Pittsburgh.

The Penguins (3-8) won the doubles point by sweeping all three contests and won four of six singles contests against the Dukes (5-5)

At No. 1 doubles, Lili Minich and Cecilia Rosas picked up a 6-3 win, at No. 2, Eliska Masarikova and Elisa Rigazio claimed a 6-3 win and at No. 3, Julia Marko and Line Greyling earned a 6-4 victory.

In singles, Rigazio, Minich, Rosas and Ito all earned victories. At No. 1 singles, Rigazio earned a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. At No. 2, Minich cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory. At No. 4, Rosas battled for a 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1 win. Also winning in three sets was Ito who won 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. 

The Guins return to action on April 1 when they open Horizon League play against Cleveland State.
